Glenda and Gloria

Last Monday, work in govt offices and classes in all levels were suspended due to the typhoon Glenda, coincidentally, t'was also the day the 6th SONA of President Gloria was delivered.

I must say, the SONA sounded and looked different. One thing many would agree on is that it was a very POSITIVE and LIGHT approach that worked very well for PGMA. In my opinion, the opposition also got struck with the presentation where all they have to say was: "All she said were unrealistic plans and unrealized accomplishments." If only the increase in economic chuva figures will be felt by the Filipinos then maybe they would have a change of heart.

Going back, Monday work was suspended for govt offices... and guess where I was while the storm ravaged the country? I was working! My ex-officemates would text me: "Lumipat ka pa kasi eh". The night before, my sister also texted me before going to sleep (magkatabi pa kami niyan sa bed ah): "Pa'nu ba yan gisingin na lang kita ng 5am?" Nakakainis na nakakatawa!

When I was a Guidance Counselor before, I enjoyed the work suspensions brought by Typhoons or Storms because if DECS would declare suspension of classes the teaching staff will have their vacation too. When I transferred to LRTA (govt office), I missed being a Guidance Counselor and the "perks" that come with being one, but later on Presidential Proclamations on work suspensions came to our rescue during lazy daisy days! Now, I belong to a private company, seems serious work is the name of the game... though the Management announced that we could go home at 2:30pm, we have work to finish until 4pm. Huhuhu!

Seems, I can't find contentment anywhere I go. On the other had, if I were content then I wouldn't dream of bigger things that may come my way.

Kris Aquino once said: "The greatest lesson I've learned about life is... you can't have it all!"

Well I guess I'll just have to make the best out of my life and wish that it is the path God has drawn for me to take.

Did I make the right choice?

Change really sucks! And after a week of being employed in another company I can't help but think (once in a while) if I made the right decision. There are many trade offs, many of which are important ones, like very competent staff, very good and true friends, not to mention the location is quite near home. I miss the good old times when I just have to act as "conductor of the band" and make sure we play good music. Now, it's different. I'm just a mere musician trying so hard to fit in and be part of a big orchestra. From where I came from, popularity has its rewards, friends and love overwhelming. Now, I have to plant my seeds again, prove my worth to strangers, and pray that I may blossom into a beautiful and radiant individual.

Bloom where you're planted.

From LRTA to ATI

Yup, starting July 17, I have to face a new career challenge. I've been accepted to work at Asian Terminals Inc, basically operates the Ports in South Harbor, Laguna, Bataan and Gen. Santos as Training Specialist. God help me!

Yesterday the whole Line 2 Personnel Office, Butch and Byron surprised me with a going-away lunch treat! They ordered 2 KFC bucket meals, bought a cake, Byron and Elena bought ice cream, Rochelle gave me a pink bag (which is soooo me), and Gloh gave me a pink umbrella (i love it!). I'm totally going to miss you guys! Especially Rochelle's mafia tactics, Glo's butt(need I explain?), Butch's charm and photogenic pictures (hehe), Evan's "OKAY na Ma'am" statement, Vener's effortless humor, Tintin's green jokes, Weng's maniac factor and secrets namin ni Elena! Coincidentally, it was also our Foundation Day so I had to say my goodbyes to all those who have helped me, believed in me and inspired me one way or another like Ma'am Vina, Ma'm Luz, Ma'am Evelyn, Ma'am Ely, Sir Ed, Deputy Administrator Cesar Chavez and Administrator Mel Robles. All of which, I reminded that they'd still be my principal sponsors on my wedding!

To LRTA, thank you for the challenges, struggles and love you have made me experience, for without them I wouldn't be as strong and confident with myself as I am now!

Is it LOVE?

Are your palms sweaty, is your heart racing, And your voice caught within your chest?
It isn't Love, it's Like.

You can't keep your eyes or hands off of them, am I right?
It isn't Love, it's Lust.

Are you proud, and eager to show them off?
It isn't Love, it's Luck.

Do you want them because you know they're there?
It isn't Love, it's Loneliness.

Are you there because it's what everyone wants?
It isn't Love, it's Loyalty.

Do you stay for their confessions of Love, because you don't want to hurt them?
It isn't Love, it's Pity.

Are you there because they kissed you, or held your hand?
It isn't Love, it's being Unconfident.

Do you belong to them because their sight makes your heart skip a beat?
It isn't Love, it's Infatuation.

Do you pardon their faults because you care about them?
It isn't Love, it's Friendship.

Do you tell them every day they are the only one you think of?
It isn't Love, it's a Lie.

Are you willing to give all of your favorite things for their sake?
It isn't Love, it's Charity.

Does your heart ache and break when they're sad?
Then it's Love.

Are you attracted to others, but stay with them faithfully without regret?
Then it's Love.

Do you accept their faults because they're a part of who they are?
Then it's Love.

Do you cry for their pain, even when they're strong?
Then it's Love.

Do their eyes see your true heart, and touch your soul so deeply it hurts?
Then it's Love.

But do you stay because a blinding, incomprehensible mix of pain and elation pulls you close and holds you?
Then it's Love.

Would you give them your heart, your life, your death?
Then it's Love.

Now, if Love is painful, and tortures us so,
why do we Love?

Why is it all we search for in life?
This pain, this agony?
Why is it all we long for?
This torture, this powerful death of self?
Why?
Because it's...

Love

Wed Preps Update, etc.

June 30...my brother-in-law-to-be met a car accident at the Rockwell area, and guess what.. by a drunk police officer! Good thing though, neither he nor his gf got hurt. That night, they can't really make any negotiation with the policeman coz he was drunk and kept on showing off his gun when repair costs were discussed! Grrr!!! To make matters worse, the Precint who was supposed to prepare the police report are his comrades! I can just imagine Bebe's disappointment! Their car was towed and parked in the AAP facility until the following day where it was brought to our mechanic, Joey.

Taking of Measurements
My Bebe had to attend to the car repairs, so he wasn't able to join us for the taking of gown measurements. The group met at the Line 2 Operations Extension Office located at the Recto Station. There were my beautiful flower girls (Aaliyah, Zaivel and Min-min) and their parents, my bes - Glen, one of the bridesmaids - Gloh, my MOH - Iyay, my junior bridesmaid - Kia, Gichelle and her mom Tita Beng who will be doing the gowns! After a long discussion and final changes in color, the entou lined up for the taking of the measurements.

Kusina ni Kambal

We (with Bebe) had our food tasting in Kusina ni Kambal and paid for the downpayment. The food was delicious especially the fish fingers! Yummy! However, I wasn't able to enjoy much of the served food coz I have to watch my diet! Since we can't finish the food all to ourselves, we brought some for my Lola!

Wedding Coordinator

Afterwards, at around 12:30pm, we left for Greenhills to buy Superman tickets. Then off we went to SM Centerpoint to meet with Marlene Cruz-Flores our wedding coordinator. To our surprise, she looked just like bes Glen! A petite girl, who obviously don't look like she's 31, very pleasant, a self-proclaimed OC and easy to talk to! We immediately liked her, and felt confident every nitty-gritty detail of the wedding will be taken cared of! And so... we booked her!

Bebe and I went back to Greenhills to attend mass and do some window shopping, then watched Superman!

Next weekend, wedding rings!
